Hello NHCA Families!
All indoor athletic facilities are closed until July 1. More information will follow in June regarding a start up plan for July.
Please let me know if your child or children are interested in participating in a NHCA Fall Sport. I am trying to get accurate participant numbers for MS and HS Soccer and Volleyball. This count is especially important for HS Volleyball as we need to have 14-16 participants to have a JV squad and we are currently at around 11 (I currently have 20 JV matches scheduled for the fall).
I am also searching for a Head Coach for MS Volleyball. If I cannot find a coach by July 1, I will be forced to cancel the season. Please send resumes to me to save our girls’ season!
Thanks for being STATESMEN!
Hello NHCA Family!
It is my pleasure to introduce Bethany Conrad as the next head coach for the NHCA middle school girls’ basketball team!
“Coach Conrad has been a part of New Hope Athletics since 2010, playing basketball from sixth through twelfth grade. During her high school career, she led her team to three OCSAA final four appearances and two championships. She went on to play basketball at Ohio Christian University and graduated with a major in English and a minor in Biblical Studies. Coach Conrad is passionate about using basketball to disciple young girls to become godly women and is looking forward to her first season as head coach of our middle school girls’ program.”
Hello NHCA Family!
It is my pleasure to introduce Cody Tripp as the next head coach for the NHCA middle school soccer team!
“I graduated from Teays Valley High School in 2017 where I was a four-year varsity starter and first team all-MSL in my junior and my senior year in soccer. I feel as if I’ve been a part of the New Hope family for a long time as I played soccer and basketball for the school in all four years of middle school, learning a lot about culture building under Coach Roese. I’ve seen the way that God, Family, and athletics have been woven into the boys’ basketball program under Coach Roese and I am excited to try to build a similar culture around this team.”

Hello NHCA Family!
I hope this message finds you doing well! Here are some updates from the NHCA Athletic Department:
Attention MS and HS Student-Athletes:
a) 4th quarter grades affect eligibility for fall sports. If you score below a 73% in any of your current online courses, you will be placed on Academic Probation for the first 4 weeks of the 20/21 school year.
b) The OHSAA has announced that all school/athletic facilities are to remain closed until June 30. This means that the NHCA soccer field and gymnasiums cannot be used for athletics until July 1. You should be receiving correspondence from your coaches concerning specific practice dates, etc.
c) If this is your first time participating in a fall sport (Soccer or Volleyball), please contact me ASAP so I can get you added to that sport’s TeamSnap page (this is how coaches communicate with their teams).
d) The NHCA Athletic Department is still searching for a MS Volleyball Coach. If you or someone you know may be interested, please send me a resume ASAP.
Thank you for being STATESMEN!
Congratulations to Simon McAllister on being named honorable mention All-Metro (Columbus Dispatch) for the 19/20 basketball season! Your Statesmen family is proud of you!
The OCSAA State Tournament wrapped-up on Saturday with both NHCA teams earning a second place finish.
The Lady Statesmen fell to the Flames from Mansfield Christian 41-53 in the Varsity Girls Championship game.
The NHCA Varsity Boys saw a three-point attempt fall just short as time expired. The Bruins from DePaul Cristo Rey prevailed 50-47 in the Boys Final.
I was very encouraged how our teams displayed Jesus during the OCSAA Tournament! The Principal of DePaul Cristo Rey approached me after the game and stated,
“This victory is much sweeter because we had to beat New Hope to achieve it. You guys set the standard that the rest of us are trying to get to.”
GO STATESMEN! 👏🏀
I hope to see you all at the NHCA Winter Sports Banquet on Monday, March 9 at 6:00PM (meet in Gym 2)!
